Can you recommend hardwax-oil product for re-oiling?

Hi James, the right product for regular recoating is maintence oil, which contains less solids than regular hardwax-oil products and therefore is easier to work with. However, re-oiling with normal hardwax-oil is absolutely fine and most popular and easy to work with products on the market are Osmo Polyx and Bona Hardwax-Oil.
Bare in mind these are slow drying sealants (4-8 hours). Osmo offers a quicker drying version - couple of hours quicker, Osmo Polyx Rapid.
Is it possible to sand and oil my 3-strip engineered wood flooring?

Hi and thank you for contacting us regarding sanding, staining and re-oiling your 3-strip engineered wood flooring.
The 3-strip engineered floorings come with 3 mm top layer of solid wood, which means that they can be sanded only once. So, the first thing that you need to do is make sure that your flooring has never been sanded before.
Given that your floors would allow for another sanding, it is perfectly possible to change the colour of the natural oak by using coloured oils. A huge variety of colours are available from the Osmo Oils range, which we highly recommend and which we regularly use for our restoration of oiled floors services.
How often to re-wax my wooden flooring?

Hi Jim,
For higher traffic areas like hallways, kitchen / dining room, living room re-oiling of the wooden floors is recommended every 18 - 24 months. For bedrooms, upper landing and areas with less use, this can be every 4-5 years.

Do you do re-oiling of wooden floors?

Yes. We provide re-oiling / re-waxing services for wooden floors, with original oil-based finish.
We can also offer a site visit to assess if the conditions of the flooring are applicable for a re-oiling service, or if floor sanding and refinishing will be required instead.
Please be prepared with some photos as well, showing the condition of the floors.
Can we have door bars & scotia beading replaced with our floor restoration service?

Yes, we do supply and install matching the floor door bars and scotia beading.
How many coats of lacquer are included in your service?

For domestic floor sanding services, we apply 1 coat of primer followed by 2 coats of lacquer. You can choose from the available sheen options, which are extra-matt, matt, satin, and gloss.
For floor sanding in public spaces (offices, schools, church halls), we use 1 coat of primer and 3 coats of high quality commercial-grade lacquer. Sheen options available are extra-matt, matt, and satin.
Extra coats are available upon request, but we do not recommend more than 5 coats, including primer.
